Our closest airport is Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA). You must arrange your own transportation to and from the airport.
Yes, all motor homes have awnings.
No, only thing we provide is your RV related items such as water hose, sewer hose, etc.. you should bring all your own pots, pans, sheets, pillows, etc..
No; bike racks are not included. You may bring your own or we do rent them for an additional charge. Note all motor home hitches are locked, you must notify us and bring your bike rack with you for us to install.
We will try our best to work with you to get the issue resolved. We have an emergency contact number if it is outside of our normal business hours. We also offer an optional emergency roadside assistance through our insurance company, MBA Insurance. You will need to sign up for this at least 48 hours prior to your pick up date for it to take affect for your rental. More information on this service: https://mbainsurance.net/roadside/
A campground is designated area, park, or resort where you can park the RV for the night. We always recommend staying at a campground with hook-ups, especially if it is your first time. Full hook-up (electric, water, & sewer) are always recommended for those RV camping for the first time. A partial list of commonly found facilities would include: electric, water, sewer hook-ups, cable TV, Wi-Fi, washer, dryer, swimming pool, playground, BBQ pits, and on-site convenience store. Campground rates vary based on time of year and what facilities they offer. For an RV travel & campground guide for all of North America: https://www.goodsam.com/campgrounds-rv-parks
Yes; you may enter Canada.
No. Please plan to bring your own car seats and/or cribs. Some motor homes are equipped with forward facing car seat tethers for your car seat. All motor homes will only have lap belts for car seat installation.
Yes, however, our motor homes are “winterized” from approximately mid-October to late March. This means we have completely drained the water and holding tanks. This will prevent the tanks and pipes from freezing and bursting. If you chose to have your rental motor home “de-winterized” (so that you can use your sink, shower, and toilet) it will cost $185. You will need to exercise extreme care while traveling in a “de-winterized” motor home during frigid weather. You will need to run the heater at all times to protect the tanks and pipes from freeze damage, or in extreme cases you would need to put RV Anti-Freeze in the water and holding tanks (by doing so, you may not use any water systems). If the pipes or tanks were damaged from freezing, it is considered negligent damage and you will be responsible for the full cost of all repairs. If you have any more questions on the rental policies during winter, please contact us.
Prices fluctuate based on season, RV, availability, and amount of time. Most cost effective way (cost per day) is to go a week (7 days) or more. Weeks run a weekday to a weekday like a Monday-Monday or Friday-Friday with an afternoon pick-up (1pm-4pm) and a morning return (10am). Shorter rentals are less expensive than a week, but are not pro-rated (the shorter the number of days rented, the higher the cost per day).
Similar to a hotel, the Rental Day is based on number of nights the vehicle is used. Each night constitutes a rental day, typically based on an afternoon departure and a morning return. Most cost effective way to go is by the week. Weeks run a week day to a week day like a Monday-Monday or Friday-Friday. You can go for longer or shorter periods of time but a week or more is the most cost effective. Minimum days sometimes do apply.
Yes; Delivery and pick-up are available at an additional cost. Motor home delivery is $200 + $7 per mile, + gas and tolls. This is based on one way using Google maps quickest time. It would again be the same additional cost to pick it up after the rental.
Upon confirmation, we take approximately a 1/3 reservation deposit as down payment. This deposit will be applied toward your rental charges. Full payment is due 2 weeks prior to departure. A credit card copy is taken at departure as a security deposit of $1,000 on motor homes. Debit cards without a Visa or MasterCard logo are NOT accepted. Cards will not be charged until return unless otherwise agreed upon, all extra charges, if any, are balanced on the credit card imprint used for security deposit if not paid by due date on final invoice for extras.
All you need is to be 25 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license, major credit card, and carry current automobile insurance. No special endorsement is needed. Temporary licenses are not accepted. All drivers must be present, listed on and sign the Rental Agreement and will be bound by Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement at vehicle pick up. There is a charge for each additional driver.
Motor homes handle much like a car, especially the class C which has a van chassis. You will receive a driving tips sheet at departure.
No refunds will be made for early returns or late pick ups.
There is tax on all the rental charges. Propane is full at departure and charges are based on what you use during your trip at $4.85 per gallon. Things that can run on propane are the refrigerator (when not plugged in to electric), stove, water heater, & furnace. Customer agrees that they will return unit in the same condition as they received it (excluding normal wear). A minimum fee of $50 will be charged if the interior of the vehicle has not been cleaned. A minimum fee of $50 will be charged if the exterior of the vehicle has not been cleaned. Holding tanks must be emptied and reading empty on monitor panel prior to return of the vehicle or be subject to an additional dump charge of up to $40. Damages or loss of equipment will be paid for by the renter. The generator fee is $3.95 per hour (or 10 hour packages for $19.50 (no refund for unused hours when bought in a package). Generator usage will be collected upon return of the rental unless a generator package is purchased, then it is due before departure. The gasoline tank is to be returned at the same level it was picked up at or a fuel and service charge will be incurred.
Typically you will get about 8-10 miles per gallon.
All motor homes have built in on-board generators. The generator charge is $3.95 per hour as determined by an installed running time meter. We do offer generator packages that come in 10-hour packages for $19.50 (no refund for unused hours when bought in a package). You can save on this expense by staying in locations that have electrical hookups and not leaving the generator running when you are not in the vehicle. A generator is only needed for the coach air conditioner, microwave, TV, and electrical outlets when not plugged in to electricity (including while driving). A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation.
We charge a per day or per trip basic collision and comprehensive coverage which carry a $1,000 deductible for motor homes. This includes state minimums for liability of $15,000 per Person; $30,000 per Accident; $5,000 Property Damage. The insurance company we use for the basic coverage also offers additional optional coverage for supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) which provides you supplemental liability insurance up to $1,000,000. For more information on that please see their website: https://extranet.mbainsurance.net/sli/sli.php
Yes, even if your personal auto insurance transfers. Unless you carry $1,000,000 liability (umbrella policies do not qualify) that will list Mike Ziegler’s Motor Home Rental Inc. as an additional insured and loss payee, as well as cover physical damage of the rental unit, and include conversion coverage. We will then also need a certificate of insurance, or binder of insurance or a written letter from the insurance company that states our vehicle will be covered during the rental period, without this you must take our coverage, no exceptions.
Possibly, all insurance companies are different and cover different things. A motor home is different from a private automobile, so some insurance companies will not cover a motor home. You will need to contact your insurance company to see if your insurance will transfer to a rented motor home. If your insurance does not transfer to the motor home you will only have our basic secondary coverage ($1,000 deductible on collision and comprehensive, liability of $15,000 per Person; $30,000 per Accident; $5,000 Property Damage). If your insurance does transfer your deductibles and liability are what you carry while you have the motor home. Your insurance is always first and ours in secondary.
We rent Class A (bus style), Class B (small van style) and Class C (van front end style) motor homes. Our website lists all of the types and sizes of RVs we rent.
No, only thing we provide is your RV related items such as water hose, sewer hose, etc.. you should bring all your own pots, pans, sheets, pillows, etc..
Some RVs do have ladders however we do not recommend being on the roof for any reason for safety and to prevent damage to the motor home.
The vehicle is overdue after 10:00 AM on the date of return and may be subject to an additional day charge and/or late return penalty. Please notify us if you will be late in returning.
Only some RVs have levers, see specific units for details. The leveling system may not be available for your rental (unfortunately there is no price adjustment for this).

Motor homes will have an estimated mileage charge that will apply to your rental. The mileage rate is from .34¢ to .44¢ per mile dependent on the motor home. We do offer mileage packages that come in 500 mile increments and you get a .05¢ per mile discount (example: .39¢ becomes .34¢) At the end of the rental you will be refunded for any excess mileage charges (unless mileage is bought in a package), or be charged at the regular mileage rate for additional miles in excess of the estimated mileage.
We do not offer one way rentals. All RVs must be picked up and dropped off at our location in Allentown PA.
We will provide a familiarization tour (approximately 30 minutes to one hour) which is required to acquaint the customer and drivers with the operation of the vehicle before departure.
We recommend getting dropped off and picked up, however if you have to leave a car here parking is $9/day and parking is very limited and is at a first come first serve basis. Parking it is at your risk entirely.
All of our rental rates quoted are based on a discounted rate for paying cash or check. We also accept all major credit cards however paying by credit card will void the cash or check discount. We do require a major credit card for an imprint for security. We do NOT accept prepaid cards for the estimated rental charges or security deposit. We do NOT accept checks at departure (unless it is a certified bank check); all checks must be paid 2 weeks prior to pick up. The cardholder must also be present and listed on the contract as the primary renter or additional authorized drive
Due to insurance regulations there MUST be a seat belt for every person (regardless of age) when traveling in the motor home. Our website shows each motor home and how many seat belts it is equipped with. Never exceed the maximum capacity as posted in the actual vehicle you will be using. Maximum capacity includes the vehicle, all fluids, all occupants and their gear. All passengers should use the provided seat belts. The total number of seat belts will vary according to the vehicle and according to the floor plan of the actual vehicle you are using. Child safety seats should be used where applicable (for PA visit https://www.penndot.gov/TravelInPA/Safety/TrafficSafetyAndDriverTopics/Pages/Child-Passenger-Safety.aspx ). The installation and use of these seats should follow the recommendation of the child seat manufacturer. Beds and overhead areas designed only for sleeping should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle should be properly secured prior to travel. This includes locking the doors, stow the entry step, and secure the outside compartments. No one is allowed to be in a trailer while being towed. You Are Required To Comply With Applicable Law.
Pets are welcomed ONLY in pet friendly units. There is a $195 pet fee if you are bringing your pet. Customer agrees to clean up after their pet and return unit in same condition as received, or be subject to a cleaning fee up to $500. If a pet is brought in a non-pet friendly unit there is a $500 penalty + the $195 pet fee.
Departure time is normally Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. If picked up before 1:00 PM an additional day charge will be incurred and you can pick up the day before for the same price (Monday morning pickup would require paying for the 3-day previous weekend rate). Saturday & Sunday pick ups are not permitted.
Yes; rental reservations are required to hold the RV for your trip.
In the event of cancellation the reservation deposit will be credited towards a future rental within a year, except, the reservation deposit will be forfeited if canceled within 30 days of schedule departure date. Cancellation within 7 days prior to schedule departure will result in the total rental fee (less mileage charge) forfeited to Rental Co. regardless of Renter’s reason(s).
We are happy to make some changes to your current reservation; however the change may require a rate adjustment based on current rates in effect at time of change. Changes are subject to current availability. No changes will be permitted to a reservation once the cancellation deadline has passed. The person that made the reservation must be present at pickup and possess a valid credit card and driver’s license.
Yes. Coverage is invalid if problems occur in restricted areas and all recovery expenses are at the renter’s own cost. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the renter will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Travel on all public and/or numbered roads is permitted. Be sure to be vigilant for low bridges, low hanging trees, and roads restricting larger vehicles. Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like commonly called logging roads or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. Due to restrictions on vehicle heights, propane gas, and parking, vehicles with propane are not permitted in Manhattan and are not permitted to travel through any underground or underwater tunnels. We reserve the right to restrict travel.
Drop off time is normally by 10:00 AM. Returns after 10:00 AM may be subject to an additional day charge or late return penalty. Due to insurance regulations you cannot tow a car behind the motor home; however other trailers & boats are acceptable. We do allow towing with all of our motor homes. The motor homes are only equipped with a receiver hitch, so you would need to provide your own tow bar. Customer must declare intention to tow prior to departure and warrant that the towing weight is within the tow weight restrictions of the motor home. Note all motor home hitches are locked. A towing charge will be imposed. We do not provide any collision or liability coverage for damage to the towed object or for third- party injury inflicted by the towed object, under any circumstances.
All motor homes are equipped with a TV.
We will make every effort to provide the customer with the model requested. We reserve the right to substitute models of similar or higher grade. Should a model of lower grade be offered and accepted, liability will be limited to refund of price differential between models paid for and model taken.
No, we do not recommend this. It is difficult to know if the water is potable when you fill the tank at a variety of locations. We recommend you use bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water from the tank is fine for washing and bathing. Motor homes come with a full tank of fresh water. Trailers come with an empty tank of fresh water to make them lighter for towing. Trailers can be filled with water before departure at renter’s request.
